I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 50 sq ft studios blog.  To get the ball rolling, I thought I'd get a few housekeeping matters out of the way.  So, here are a tidbits of information that might answer any questions you have!  If you want to know something else, ask me.  I just might tell you.
Q:  Who are you?
A:  My name is Leslie, and I live in the Seattle area with my husband and 2 cats.
Q:  What is 50 sq ft studios?
A:  50 sq ft studios (fifty square feet studios) is my creative outlet.  After repeatedly hearing, "you should sell that online," I decided that I might as well give it a try.  I am passionate about sewing, and I hope it will translate into a successful endeavor.
Q:  Where did you get your awesome name?
A:  50 sq ft is the size of the space formerly occupied by my
kitchen/dining table and chairs.  It is
more like 25 square feet of full-time sewing space and 25 square feet of space
that can function as a temporary area for cutting, pinning, and other crafting
goodness!
Q:  What type of things do you like to sew?
A:  I've made a variety of things including small zippered bags, tote bags, quilts, and placemats.  Functionality is key for me.  I find myself drawn to quirky, less traditional prints on high quality quilting cotton fabric.  I have found that acrylic felt is a great material to use with machine embroidery (I'd use wool if I could, but I'm allergic).
Q: What can I expect to see on this blog?
A: I will be sharing some tips & tricks along with some how to articles.

Q:  What type of sewing machine do you use?
A:  My primary machine is a Pfaff Creative Performance.  I love that it is a wonderful sewing machine that has a detachable embroidery unit.
Q: Do you sell your stuff?
A: I'm working on it! I will be opening an etsy shop in the near future. Stay tuned for more information!
